Norwegian Offshore Wind Supply Chain Report
Norwegian Offshore Wind Supply Chain Report
Together with our JV partner Renewables Consulting Group (now ERM), Æge Energy investigated the potential for the Norwegian supply chain from deployment of up to 50 GW offshore wind by 2050. The aim of this report, commissioned by the Brigg Vind offshore wind consortium consisting of Vårgrønn, Å Energi and Corio Generation, was to make recommendations on how Norway can build on its strength, mitigate its weaknesses, and create new initiatives for the Norwegian offshore wind supply chain where it is yet not present – and through this reach the ambitious targets of the previously published "Vision 2050-report" produced in collaboration with THEMA Consulting Group.
The report provides an overview of the Norwegian supply chain capability, identify key strengths, and make recommendations on how it can grow from its base. Furthermore, the report will explore cultural and geographical advantages Norway might have and highlight how other countries have successfully developed their domestic supply chains in UK and elsewhere and explore how this can be employed in a Norwegian context. The work has been carried out in close collaboration with five industry groups who have all made valuable contributions in the quantitative and qualitative assessment of this report. The industry groups are:
• The Federation of Norwegian Industries (Norsk Industri)
• Norwegian Shipowners’ Association (Norges Rederiforbund)
• GCE NODE
• Norwegian Offshore Wind (NOW)
